Glowing Jewels--Lanterns

During the summer I went outside--in the open air--and painted everyday.

I found much peace inside by doing this. I loved being out in nature, in the West Eugene Wetlands and along the Willamette River.

I miss being outside and painting, but mostly I miss the light!

On dark wet days I look at my paintings as if they were glowing jewels or lanterns burning bright in a dark cavern.

Is it possible to look with hope at one's own paintings? Yes!

Yet summer and it's light will come again and this dark time will be like a half-forgotten dream.
