Drawing, Learning, Creating, Doing!

These are photos of one of my drawing students and the work he has done in class. His name is Noel.

The first photo is Noel's copy of A Richard Diebenkorn. I ask him copy the Masters. It is how I learned and is perhaps the best way to learn how to do art--by copying the Masters.

This is Noel at work. Artist at work.

This is a still life with ink bottles and a goat skull.  Noel did it in class. He made it as I was teaching him how to draw from direct observation using charcoal and ink washes.

I love teaching drawing and painting and I love watching people grow as artists--it is exciting!
