Glowing Jewels--Lanterns
During the summer I went outside--in the open air--and painted everyday.
I found much peace inside by doing this. I loved being out in nature, in the West Eugene Wetlands and along the Willamette River.
I miss being outside and painting, but mostly I miss the light!
On dark wet days I look at my paintings as if they were glowing jewels or lanterns burning bright in a dark cavern.
Is it possible to look with hope at one's own paintings? Yes!
Here are a couple of my favorites:
Yet summer and it's light will come again and this dark time will be like a half-forgotten dream.
